On October 16, 2026, a specialized veterinary orthopedics R&D center based in Suzhou, Jiangsu, formally announced the full commercial launch of its new line of custom veterinary orthotic and prosthetic devices, designed to address stifle injuries, carpal deformities, tarsal trauma and post-surgical limb rehabilitation needs in dogs, cats and other companion animals. The entire production process integrates 3D scanning, biomechanical simulation and high-precision carbon fiber composite manufacturing, and the first batch of products has already been adopted by 47 veterinary rehabilitation clinics across East China.

This new product series covers knee braces, carpal support sleeves, tarsal orthoses and partial limb prosthetics. All models are built on a non-invasive design framework that eliminates the need for secondary surgical implantation. Each device is created using full-limb 3D scanning data collected on site at the partner veterinary clinic, ensuring a precise anatomical match that avoids the common problems of ill-fitting off-the-shelf supports, such as skin abrasion, pressure sores and joint misalignment. Clinical follow-up data shows that 98% of canine patients with ACL injuries, patellar luxation or chronic arthritis recovered more than 80% of their pre-injury daily mobility within 12 weeks of wearing the device, without requiring major invasive surgery.

The global veterinary ortho-prosthetics market reached USD 61.3 million in 2025, and is projected to expand at a 9.1% compound annual growth rate through 2035, driven by rising pet care spending and growing pet owner awareness of non-surgical rehabilitation solutions. The U.S. pet industry alone recorded USD 158 billion in total expenditure in 2025, with USD 41 billion allocated specifically to veterinary care and specialized medical product sales. North America accounted for 47% of the global veterinary ortho-prosthetics revenue in 2025, while Europe contributed USD 15.3 million, and the Asia Pacific region is expected to register a 10.2% CAGR over the next decade as regional veterinary referral infrastructure continues to improve.

The newly launched product line complies with the General Technical Requirements for Pet Medical Devices released in China in May 2026, the first local industry standard that fills long-standing technical gaps in companion animal medical device manufacturing. All components are made from biocompatible, low-density carbon fiber and medical-grade polymer composites, which reduce overall device weight by 42% compared to traditional metal-supported alternatives. This lighter design significantly reduces long-term limb burden for small and medium-sized companion animals, while extending device service life to more than 18 months under daily normal wear conditions.

At present, the R&D team has completed more than 1,200 clinical case verifications across 11 provincial-level regions in China. The product line will continue to expand its regional coverage over the next six months, with dedicated training programs for veterinary surgeons and rehabilitation technicians to help more local practices convert orthopedic diagnoses into accessible, custom-fitted mobility treatment plans.
